Red-shanked Douc (Pygathrix nemaeus) of the Old World Monkeys (to distinguish it from the New World monkeys), and is the most colorful species of primates. They are also known as "Five Void" because of this unique look. From the knee to the ankle, the red-shanked douc looks like the "reddish-brown longs," with their forearms covered with white gloves. But hands and feet are black. Red-shanked douc langur with white and usually white beard will be more dense. Their eyelids are light blue. White tail and white feathers on the bottom. Males of all ages have white patches on the buttocks and genitals in red and white.
The word "langur" means "monkey" in Vietnamese. Dragonflies are monkeys that live on trees, eat, sleep on tree branches in the jungle and operate during the day. Red-shanked doucs are monkeys that eat the endemic leaves of Vietnam and Laos. They are one of the rare and over-hunted animals here.
Redshank is listed on the IUCN Red List of Endangered Animals and CITES Global Trafficking in Persons List. Despite this, Vietnam's law to protect this species is difficult to implement.
On 13/2/2017, the Da Nang Provincial FPD said that the collaboration between the agency and the Douc Langur Foundation on population monitoring from 2008 to 2016 shows that there is now Approximately 700 individuals of brown-shanked doucs (Pygathrix nemaeus) on Son Tra Peninsula (Tho Quang Ward, Son Tra District) have enough generations of generations. This number has increased by hundreds of individuals compared with the survey results, statistics a few years earlier. This is a good sign that hunting and trapping of wildlife has pushed the primates 'princes' and other precious and rare species to extinction.
